Many users are unaware of the full potential of forward and reverse functions in fan lights. Used properly, they provide year-round benefits and improve air conditioning efficiency.
In summer, the fan runs forward, pushing air downward to create natural wind and accelerate sweat evaporation. During mild weather (26–30°C), the fan can replace air conditioning, saving electricity.
In winter, reversing the fan draws air upward, avoiding direct wind while circulating trapped warm air downward. This eliminates temperature stratification and reduces heating waste.
In spring and autumn, low-speed forward operation improves air circulation and reduces stuffiness.
When paired with air conditioning:
- In summer, forward airflow spreads cool air faster, allowing higher thermostat settings.
- In winter, reverse mode circulates warm air without draft.
To protect the motor, wait at least 3 minutes before switching directions. Winter reverse mode works best on low speed.
This feature turns a seasonal fan into a year-round appliance, greatly improving space utilization and home comfort.
